A large new camping site has been proposed for the holiday village of Dunfanaghy.

Plans have been lodged with Donegal County Council for a new complex at Kill, comprising of motorhome and camping pitches along with a reception building with toilets and showers.

The development, if approved, would accommodate ten motorhomes and 65 static caravans.

The application includes a site maintenance and storage building, an access roadway, a connection to the public sewer, signage and all other site development works.

The application from Margaret Stewart was received by Donegal County Council on 24th February.

Dunfanaghy has seen an influx of campervans post-Covid. Last year, a barrier was erected on Dunfanaghy Pier to prevent motorhome owners from taking up car parking spaces.
