Sadness as popular Letterkenny business to close

There has been an outpouring of sadness at the impending closure of another popular locally owned business.

The baby and children goods shop, Babyzone, will close its doors at Forte Retail Park, Letterkenny, for the last time next week.

The owners confirmed ‘with great sadness’ on their Facebook page they will be closing down on Saturday, March 18.

“Over 16 years since we first opened our doors and helped thousands of excited mammies and daddies, the last remaining nursery store in Donegal will be no more,” they stated.

“A combination of Covid, Brexit, online shopping and ever increasing costs meant we could no longer survive in business.”

They took the opportunity to thank their wonderful customers, many of whom have become friends, their ‘fantastic staff’, Amanda who did everything she possibly could to make it work, suppliers and neighbours in Forte Retail Park.

“It has been a tremendous journey, we have learned so much on the way, made so many great friends, made a few mistakes, but overall we have no regrets,” they added.

The store is currently closed to prepare for a massive closing down sale, reopening on Wednesday at 9.30am.

They have also taken their website down to avoid any confusion but will be available through the usual social media channels and email (sales@babyzone.ie) for any queries. Any deposits will be fully refunded.

“Take care of yourselves and remember, shop local,” they concluded.
