The Central Hotel and The Abbey Hotel in Donegal Town are now recruiting for a variety of positions.

  • Food and Beverage Server – The Abbey Hotel

Duty Manager

Objective of the role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Duty Manager will oversee the running of key functions in the hotel, as well as supporting the General Manager and all HODs in their roles. This is an ideal role for a candidate with previous supervisory experience keen to progress into management. Competitive salary available DOE.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Hotel.
  • Ensure quality and standards are met consistently.
  • Anticipate guest needs, and proactively manage their expectations.
  • Assist with the management of the hotel’s daily operations, ensuring delivery of exceptional guest service from each department.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer issues.
  • Have full knowledge of the hotel and all departments.

Key Requirements for the Role:

  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Have a high level of customer focus and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with customers and fellow managers and staff alike.
  • Have a passion for their role.
  • Have a mature and pleasant manner for dealing with customers and team members alike.
  • Be capable of upselling all areas of the Hotel.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a role in a similar environment
  • Strong food & beverage background and/or experience with banqueting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – fluency in English
  • Knowledge of hotel operating systems
  • Reliable and enthusiastic with ability to motivate teams
  • Standards driven, with strong attention to detail.

Food & Beverage Assistant

The Central Hotel, Donegal Town are now recruiting for full-time and part-time Food & Beverage Assistants and Bar Tenders to join our team for the upcoming summer season. Flexible hours are available and training can be provided – previous experience an advantage.

Duties include:

  • Greeting and seating customers
  • Taking orders, service of food and drink
  • Providing high levels of customer service
  • Cleaning and resetting tables with dishes, glasses, and flatware as needed
  • Leave a positive impression on our guests

Chef de Partie

Excellent opportunity for a Chef de Partie to work in the Central Hotel, Donegal Town.

The Central Hotel, Donegal Town are currently looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team in our busy hotel restaurant.

The ideal candidate would have at least 1 years’ experience in a busy kitchen. Wok training can also be provided.

Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes for the hotel bar & restaurant A team player and leader with good communication skills, maintaining good staff relations HACCP training is an advantage, good standard of food hygiene and knowledge of health and safety procedures Delivery of exceptional food, maintaining consistency.

Hotel Receptionist

We are recruiting for a full-time Receptionist for the Central Hotel

Do you have a high standard of customer service focus?

Are you passionate about hospitality?

Responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge & understanding of all guest facilities
  • Checking in all Guests swiftly and efficiently whilst up-selling facilities
  • Checking out all guests with follow up on an individuals stay
  • Handling Telephone enquiries in a timely & prompt manner
  • Handle Restaurant/Dining Reservations
  • Take Function enquiries
  • Ensure cleanliness of Front Desk and Reception area
  • Maintain floats and adhere to cash handling procedures
  • Keep an up to date knowledge of hotel events
  • Maintain high standards of appearance
  • Liase with Reservations to ensure smooth handover of group bookings

Food & Beverage Servers

The Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town are looking for full-time experienced Food & Beverage Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a hospitality setting. Midweek and seasonal availability required.

Competitive wage available dependent on level of experience. We pride ourselves on our staff reaping the rewards of excellent service.

Duties:

  • Greeting & seating customers
  • Taking orders, service of food & drink
  • Clearing & resetting tables as needed
  • Ensure the area is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Providing high levels of customer service
  • Leave a positive impression on our guests

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role, as well as being able to work well as part of our excellent food & beverage team.
