Sad passing of former school principal, Brian McDermott

The death has taken place of former school teacher and principal, Brian McDermott.

He passed away peacefully this morning at his home at Admiran, Stranorlar, surrounded by his loving family. 

The late Mr McDermott was one of the last principals of the old Stranorlar Vocational School on the town’s main street.

A lover of classic cars, he was a popular member of the Twin Towns community.

Beloved husband of Judy and much loved father of Brendan, Carol and Sinéad, cherished brother of Terry and dearly loved grandfather to Luke, Emily, and Alex. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, son, daughters, brother, grandchildren, daughter in law Teresa, sons in laws Gavin and Robert, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence from 2pm today (Sunday). Family time from 10pm until 12 noon and on the morning of the funeral, please.

Funeral leaving his home on Tuesday at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar, at 11am. Interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.
