Vehicles seized during garda ‘day of action’

Two vehicles were seized during yesterday’s road safety ‘day of action’ across Donegal.

The drivers were stopped at checkpoints conducted by Letterkenny and Buncrana Roads Policing Units in Burnfoot and Burt. One vehicle had no tax or insurance while the other had no tax.

Meanwhile, yesterday evening, a car was detected travelling at 137KPH (85pmh) in a 100KPH (60mph) speed zone on the N13 by Buncrana Roads Policing Unit.

A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice will be issued to the driver. They will now face a fine of €160 and will receive 3 penalty points.
