Met Eireann has issued an overnight weather alert for wind in Donegal.
The status yellow alert takes effect from 2am Wednesday morning until 8am.
The northwest coast will be hit by gale force winds, forecasters say.
There is a risk of possible coastal flooding.
The Ulster forecast says: “Wet and windy tonight with widespread rain and fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds, gale force along the northwest and north coast overnight. The rain will clear eastwards giving way to clear spells and scattered showers. ”
Tomorrow, Wednesday, will start out with showers, with scattered blustery showers becoming widespread during the afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy, with a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms.
