The family of the late Rocco McGinley from Buncrana have expressed their wholehearted thanks to everyone who supported them through their journey.

Rocco, a 15-year-old student of Scoil Mhuire Buncrana, died on 21st February following a brave two year battle against an extremely rare brain tumour.

His Month’s Mind Memorial Mass will take place at 10 o clock on Wednesday, 23rd of March in St Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana.

Rocco’s parents, Yvonne and Wade McGinley, shared this message to the community who supported the ‘Rocco’s Road to Recovery fundraiser.

They said: “Rocco’s Dad, Wade and mum, Yvonne would like to extend their thanks to All Roccos family, friends and the wider community of Buncranna and Donegal for their love and support over the last 17 months, throughout Roccos diagnosis, treatment and their tragic loss of a fantastic, beautiful boy.

“Rocco himself was so grateful during these times and loved getting to meet the people that followed his story. Rocco will continue to live on in the hearts of the many that adored him during his short life. May we continue to see him in the sky, the sunsets and the rainbows and remember how he lived with such courage and a love for life.

“Until we meet again Rocco, RIP”
