Letterkenny-bound motorists are facing more delays due to the partial closure of the dual carriageway.
Donegal County Council has confirmed resurfacing of the outward bound Dry Arch to Manor Roundabout stretch from 7pm to 7am, from April 16th (last night) to 20th. The minor L5454 to Dromore Lower will also be shut to traffic.
In addition, the N13 from Lurgybrack to the Dry Arch Roundabout will be closed during the same times and dates.
As a result of the dual carriageway and L5454 closures, a number of alternative routes are being put forward.
Let’s hope the diversions are easier to follow than what’s stated in the council’s notice (below), which was published in local newspapers last month.

Traffic leaving Letterkenny for Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will have to travel out the dual carriageway to Manor Roundabout and back via the inbound carriage way. Inbound traffic from Derry/Lifford will be diverted to the dual carriageway which will be reduced to a single lane from the Trimragh Junction. Outbound Derry/Lifford traffic, coming from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey, will be diverted to the Polestar Roundabout before travelling back along the N14 Four Lane Road.
In relation to the closure of the N13 from Lurgybrack to the Dry Arch Roundabout, the council is proposed the following diversions:
Outbound Letterkenny to Lurgybrack/Ballybofey traffic will be diverted along the dual carriageway to Manor Roundabout and back. Inward bound traffic to Letterkenny from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be diverted to the Polestar Roundabout via the Leck and Cullion roads.
Inward bound traffic from Derry/Letterkenny will be diverted to the L1114 at Trimragh Junction, then via the Leck and Cullion roads. Outbound traffic to Derry/Lifford, from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be also diverted to the Polestar via Leck and Cullion roads, then the Four Lane road.
