An extensive 70km diversion will be in place for HGVs and main traffic travelling through Muff this week as roadworks take place on main street.

There will be a night-time road closure for essential repairs between 27th March 2023 – 31st March 2023 and 3rd-4th April.

The main street will be closed 7pm-6am daily from the Texaco Filling Station to the Circle K Filling Station.

Donegal County Council has designated a diversion via Carndonagh/Buncrana/Bridgend/Derry as an alternative route. The cross-border diversion applies to traffic approaching either end of the village.

Traffic on the main roads will be sent via Quigley’s Point, Carndonagh, Buncrana, Burnfoot, Bridgend, Skeoge Roundabout and Culmore Roundabout. (R238 – R240 – R244 – R238 – A2 – A515 – A2 – R238).

Motorists are advised that this route will not be closed on Saturday night 1st April and Sunday night 2nd April.
