Fanad U11s emerged victorious over Ballyshannon in a closely contested basketball county final at the Donegal Community Games yesterday.
The mixed game was a great display of talent from both sides.
In the end, Fanad were the winners by 16-2 and will now represent Donegal in the Ulster finals next month. This is the first time that Fanad had a basketball team take part in the community games, so to reach the Ulster final is an even more remarkable achievement.
The team is managed by Bernie Gallagher, Una Sweeney and Siobhan Mc Gee.
“Well done to Ballyshannon for a great match,” the team said.
