There is sadness in Letterkenny with the news of the death of local man Vincent (Rocky) Blake, 1 Iona Road.

He died in Letterkenny University Hospital on Monday.

Very well known, Vincent was a proud ‘townie’ and enjoyed meeting up with his many friends for a chat up the street or at local football and GAA matches.

He was a big supporter of both St. Eunan’s GAA club and Letterkenny Rovers and loved to reminisce about his playing days at Leckview Park.

In more recent times, he would join club members Dessie Kelly and Victor Fisher in the Rovers hatch on Upper Main Street from where they would sell the weekly club lottos.

He was a retired Health Care Assistant at Stradreagh Hospital, Derry and with the HSE Donegal.

Funeral arrangements:

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top Letterkenny (F92 XE35) on Wednesday, March 29th from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, concluding with removal to St. Eunan’s Cathedral Letterkenny for Reception Prayers at 6pm, reposing overnight for 11am Requiem Mass on Thursday, March 30th.

Funeral Mass can be viewed online by using the link https://www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny and Mass will be followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Flowers welcome or donations if wished to Mary’s Meals c/o Paschal Blake Funeral Director.

Vincent is mourned by his son Christopher (Derry) and the extended Blake family and a wide circle of friends.
