If you’re taking a stroll along Donegal Town’s Bank Walk this Easter, you might notice two new faces.
‘The Gonks’ are settling in nicely after arriving on the scenic trail this week.
Local man Paul Kenny carved the quirky pair from tree trunks and donated them to the community for everyone’s enjoyment.
The Gonks are another great addition to the popular walkway, which boasts fun fairy doors for children and peaceful waterside views.
The Donegal Town Community Chamber has welcomed the new arrivals and said: “We would like to express our gratitude to Paul for all his hard work creating these magnificent carvings and for his Community Spirit and generosity.
“We would also like to acknowledge Ernan Mc Gettigan and Mark from the Donegal Town Community Chamber for finding a prime location for the couple where they can spend their days watching the world go by. Thanks to Aodh Ruadh CLG for supplying the cement for this project.”
