Letterkenny man’s live Christmas crib raises almost €2,000

Local charities are benefitting from a very unique Christmas crib which was opened in Letterkenny last year.

Last December, Tom Giblin wanted to share the delights of his mini-farm with the community. He got the idea to set up a Nativity Scene at his Lisnenan home complete with two miniature pigs, a miniature donkey and foal, a mini pony, three mini goats and their kids.

The wonderful display attracted families from near and far who came to enjoy the festive feeling and see the animals.

Tom selected 16 charities to benefit from any donations to the crib.

They were: Children’s Ward Letterkenny University Hospital, Little Blue Heroes Donegal, Bumbleance Donegal, Jack & Jill Foundation, ISPCA Donegal, Donegal Down Syndrome, Little Angels Special School, St. Bernadette’s school, Donegal Hospice, Blood Bikes North West, Irish Motor Neurone Disease and Donegal Donkey Sanctuary.

The grand total raised was €1,756, and a special presentation was held last month with the 16 charities welcoming the support.
