There has been more success for Donegal athletes at the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland today.

Kathryn McDevitt was on the Irish 4 x 200m relay team that clinched third place for bronze medals.

The Letterkenny AC member was part of the Irish team along with Snezana Bechtina, Bernadette Spillane and Sinead O’Regan. The US team took gold with Great Britain winning silver.

Earlier in the day, Noreen Bonner of Finn Valley AC was on the Ireland W65 team which took team silver in the half marathon.

Her time of 1 hour 47.44 saw her finish fourth overall in her category and just outside an individual medal spot.

Noreen’s clubmate at Finn Valley Catriona Devine was a bronze medal winner in the 1500m.

Delivering another brilliant performance on the big stage, the Castlefin woman ran 5.02.79.

Catriona’s sister Sinead will come home from the championships with three medals after she won bronze in the 3k walk on Tuesday and silver in the 10k walk on Friday where she also helped Ireland to team bronze.

Garvin Boyce of Finn Valley AC was 7th in his 1500m heat on Friday evening but failed to advance.

Kay Byrne, also of Finn Valley, was sixth in her category in the 1500m. Kay’s week had started with a brilliant gold medal win in the cross country.
