Professional walking guide John McGroary has scooped an international travel award for his work guiding people across the hills of Donegal.
John has been crowned the ‘Walking Tour Guide of the Year 2023’ in the LUXlife Travel & Tourism Awards.
John commented that he was delighted with the accolade.
A former garda and UN Peacekeeper, John turned his skills to tour guiding after retirement. He is also a qualified and registered mountain leader.
His ‘John’s Ireland’ business provides both hiking and sightseeing tours around county Donegal including the magnificent Sliabh League Cliffs.
Now in its seventh year, the LUXlife Travel & Tourism Awards aim to recognise and showcase those within the industry that go above and beyond for their clients.
