Castlefinn’s very own baking prodigy, Adam Doherty, has done it again!
The 13-year-old budding chef has just completed the 3rd charity bake sale and this year, he’s outdone himself by raising the biggest amount yet!
Adam, a first-year student at Finn Valley College, loves nothing more than to whisk up delicious treats for friends and family.
This is his third year of hosting a community bake sale in aid of Crumlin & Temple Street Children’s Hospitals. Both hospitals provided amazing care for Adam’s older brother, Matthew, who received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2016.
“We will be forever grateful for the care and love Matthew received at these hospitals,” said his parents, Joe and Louise Doherty.
To give thanks, Adam tapped into his baking talents again and made an incredible array of bespoke cupcakes and Rice Krispie buns to sell at St. Mary’s Hall on 1st April.

The support and love that Adam received from his community during this event was truly incredible, and he couldn’t be more grateful for the generous donations. The Bake Off was also kindly supported by Kavanagh’s Supervalu Ballybofey.
The grand total raised from the Bake Off has been revealed this week, and the family are delighted to be able to donate a further €1,644 to be shared between Crumlin & Temple Street Children’s Hospitals.
Congratulations Adam!
