The CAKE Centre in Killygordon will be the venue for the upcoming community relations and diversity training session.

The event, orgranised by the Active Play Project, will take place on Saturday, April 29th.

The project, which is being coordinated by Donegal Sports Partnership, is funded by the International Fund for Ireland.

Saturday week’s training session will be delivered by Playboard NI and will enable participants to learn how to promote and celebrate diversity through the medium of play.

Donegal Sports Partnership’s Sports Project Officer, Hugh Carlin, says the training will be extremely interactive, with lots of practical exercises both indoor and outdoor.

Fun games for children.

“It will look at the importance of play, inclusion and how to make it happen,” he explained.

“It will also look at the area of exclusion and who faces it along with tips on how to overcome certain barriers. Language, understanding and planning will also play a key role in the training.”

“The training will be facilitated by Playboard NI who have vast experience in this area throughout the island and we look forward to them sharing their knowledge and experience with our volunteers,” he concluded.

The session begins at 10am and concludes at 1 pm.
