The sign for the old Letterkenny Corn Market is to be restored.

The matter was raised by Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh at last week’s meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District.

Cllr Kavanagh proposed that Donegal County Council restore the sign at Lower Main Street which reads ‘Letterkenny Market 1852’. It was painted over a couple of years ago.

At the meeting, a council representative informed him they will approach local groups to see if this can be arranged.

“It was painted over a few years ago and it would be great for it to be restored. It could be done in a few hours,” concluded Cllr Kavanagh.
