A motorist speeding at almost 200kph has been tracked down by Gardai.
The driver was detected doing 195kph on the N13 a few days ago by members of the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit.
The speed limit in the area is 100kph.
According to Gardai, the road was very busy at the time of the speeding incident.
The driver was not stopped at the time but Gardai made inquiries.
As a result of their investigations a person was arrested earlier today.
The driver has been charged and will appear at a future sitting of the court.
A Garda spokesperson pleaded “Slow down. Do not risk your life and the lives of others by speeding.”
