A householder in Letterkenny was left shaken after they were confronted by a burglar who had just broken into their home.
The incident happened on the Gortlee Road on Saturday afternoon last between 4 and 5pm.
The intruder ran off towards the Whitethorn estate as the householder arrived back in their home.
A window had been smashed and a number of rooms had been disturbed with a small amount of cash stolen.
The intruder was described as being six feet tall, of slim build and he was wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket.
