Donegal’s Lough Eske Castle was thrilled to welcome two Hollywood stars to the northwest – Daisy Ridley and Tom Bateman.

The British actors, who announced their marriage in January, soaked up the spring sunshine during a trip to Ireland, which included a stop at the five-star Lough Eske Castle hotel outside Donegal Town.

Daisy Ridley rose to prominence for her role as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. She spent time in Donegal in 2016 during the filming of Episode VIII in Inishowen. The crew’s downtime was spent embracing the local culture and craic, and Daisy even joined a trad session in McGrory’s Pub in Culdaff.

Daisy’s partner Tom Bateman is best known for his roles on the historical fantasy drama series Da Vinci’s Demons,  the Murder on the Orient Express and sequel Death on the Nile. It was during this Agatha Christie sequel that Ridley and Bateman met, and the pair had been linked ever since.

Their Irish holiday also included a stop in Dingle earlier this week. On Monday, the owners of the Irish hotel Castlewood House Dingle shared a photo of the couple at the hotel and said they were “absolutely delighted” to host the stars.
