It’s a few months now since the renowned O’Hehirs Bakery and Cafe opened its doors on Lower Main Street in Ballybofey. It now occupies the unit once very successfully operated by Gallaghers Bakery.

The Bakery and Cafe is off to a fabulous start trading in the town and it is easy to see why. The business is operated by the famous O’Hehirs Family, who are baking since 1984. At their craft bakery in Sligo, they produce the most deliciously nutritious breads and mouth-watering confectionary that is supplied fresh every morning to Ballybofey.

All the much loved traditional breads are available along with some more contemporary breads and of course the local favourite, Cornbread is available at the weekends.

The treats and confectionary ranges available are a feast for the eyes and taste exceptional too, from fresh brownies, donuts and apple pie to amazing fresh gateaux – the range available has something for everyone including gluten-free options.

An impressive signature sandwich menu, designed by the head chef,  headlines the fresh food offer available, this range made using in-house breads is a must try. There is an extensive breakfast and hot lunch menu, from the traditional breakfast to tasty chicken curry or quiche. O’Hehirs provides fair-trade sourced coffee that is roasted in Ireland and specially selected by the in-house coffee expert. Each cup is barista made and has an unrivalled quality taste.

All food and drinks are also available for take away and you can pre-order on 074 9131982 anytime.

The Bakery and Cafe is ably managed by Tina Mac Munn and employs a very capable team of 10 staff. Tina has vast experience in the industry and looks forward to serving the people of Ballybofey and beyond “We are absolutely thrilled to open here in Ballybofey and provide customers with the very best in fresh breads, cakes, food and coffee. We will be adding some new dishes to the food menu all the time to keep everyone interested, so keep an eye out for some of these specials!”

Lastly, O’Hehirs are famous for their occasion cakes. A special occasion such as a birthday, communion, confirmation or anniversary is never complete without and O’Hehirs custom cake. You can order instore or online via www.ohehirs.ie

Visit O’Hehirs Ballybofey today to see for yourself all the delicious goodness that awaits!
