Dumpers used their Bank Holiday Weekend to leave a range of dumped items beside a well-known religious grotto in West Donegal.
All sorts of unwanted household items were left at the Muckish Grotto outside Falcarragh.
The dumped items included chairs, empty containers, a child’s bike and an old metal strimmer.
The horse was left at the side of the road close to the grotto which is visited by passing motorists daily.
Local county councillor Michael McClafferty has slammed the illegal dumping.
He said “This could all have been easily dropped off at a recycling centre near by free of charge, instead of dumping it behind Muckish.
“The Falcarragh Tidy Towns people do great work as is the norm in all our towns and villages around. I would ask whoever dumped these items to try and respect these hard working Groups in future the next time they are planning to dump.
“Get a skip or bin like the rest of us have to do.”
Councillor McClafferty arranged for the rubbish to be removed and properly safely disposed of in a skip.
