Donegal County Council has been urged to resurface the Long Lane in Letterkenny after recent weather damage.
Cllr Gerry McMonagle has said that the busy road, which connects a large number of housing estates, is in need of full resurfacing works.
“The last winter took its toll on it and it has deteriorated badly,” Cllr McMonagle told the Letterkenny-Milford MD meeting on Tuesday.
Cllr McMonagle also highlighted a large pothole near the entrance to the Ard na Rí estate, where renovation works are ongoing.
He acknowledge that patching work has been done in places, but said that the road needs a ‘full job done, top to bottom’.
The council responded to say that the Long Lane can be considered for prioritising for the 2024 Restoration Improvement programme, as this year’s programme has been agreed upon.
In the short term, Routine Maintenance works will be carried out.
