Letterkenny jockey Patrick McGettigan notched up another double at Navan on Sunday last in what was a bumper card.

Patrick’s first win of the day was in the 2-mile open aboard ‘King Of The Hill’, as he bounced out and made all of the running and kept on strongly for a three length success.

On the evidence of this performance, the Letterkenny owned an trained by the Sweeney’s has firmly thrown his hat in to the ring for the Dingle Derby this August in Kerry.

Mc Gettigan’s second winner was a case of déjà vu as he piloted West Boots to an all the victory in the second division of the 10 furlong open again for the same connections the Sweeney’s of Oldtown Letterkenny.

Brody Ferry who is another up and coming rider who most certainly going the right way made no mistake when he guided his own pony Little Lioness to a battling display as he got the better of ‘South Of The Border’ in the 128cm.

Tiernan Mc Gill from Finntown  had another good experience on board ‘Swilly Spiri’t in a very hot contest and surely will  get his day in the sun in the near future.

The next meeting will be at Vicarstown on the 28th of May at 1pm.
