€2.1M for almost 50 Donegal projects supporting people from Ukraine and elsewhere

Almost 50 inclusive community projects across Donegal have been successful in gaining support under the Community Recognition Fund.

The Community Recognition Fund is a government designed to specifically support communities across the country that are hosting people from Ukraine and other countries.

The funding has been allocated across all local authorities based on the number of new arrivals located there.

Among the allocations is funding for Sessiaghoneill National School in Ballybofey, which took in an additional 52 students in October who are Ukrainian refugees or from asylum seeker families.

Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) has gained support to purchase a 17 seater minibus for the wider Donegal Community Wheels. We Care LK Foodbank has also gained funding for a van.

Football clubs, theatres, community centres, playgrounds and many more facilities are to be upgraded with the funding, detailed below:
