The Irish Red Cross is calling on the people of Creeslough to meet this week to discuss the spending of a €200,000 sum remaining from the Creeslough Community Fund.
€1.88 million was donated to the Irish Red Cross in the wake of the tragedy in Creeslough in October 2022. Ten people lost their lives in the devastating explosion.
The Irish Red Cross has confirmed that most of the money raised in the fund was allocated to emergency and planned support for various individual beneficiaries.
The fund’s balance now sits at €200,000, which is intended to be used for ongoing support for the community of Creeslough.
A public meeting has been called on Wednesday 24th May at 7.30pm at the Creeslough Day Centre to hear from community members on ideas for the expenditure of the remaining sum.
If you cannot attend in person, please feel free to email your suggestions & ideas to: creesloughsupport@redcross.ie
