The Letterkenny Music and Drama Group’s (LMDG) recent production of ‘Calendar Girls The Musical’ has been shortlisted for two major national awards.

It has been shortlisted by The Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS) in two categories.

The AIMS awards acknowledge and celebrate the massive talents in musicals performed in Ireland throughout the year.

“We are just blown away that our amazing show was nominated amongst the best of the best in the country,” an LMDG spokesperson said.

Ciara Gallagher has received a nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Annie.

The second nomination is a Special Adjudicators Award for the ‘Naked Ladies of Letterkenny’, acknowledging and praising all the LMDG ladies for baring their bodies and souls and raising money for local charities.

“This show meant so much to everyone who was in it, and everyone who saw it, providing laughter and tears and touching the hearts of audiences. It was a privilege for us all to be able to tell this story and thank you to you, the audiences, who helped make it such a success.”

The awards ceremony will be held in Killarney next month.
