The Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards 2023 are now open for applications.

The awards were officially launched by Cathaoirleach of Donegal, Cllr Liam Blaney in Castle Grove Country House Hotel. Attended by sponsors and other key stakeholders, the launch itself celebrated the success of the awards to date.

Chamber President, Fionnuala Rabbitt explained that there is great enthusiasm for the awards “The Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards is the biggest event of the year for the business community. The awards are designed to celebrate all types and sizes of business. Last year the awards event was the biggest ever and the competition was strong and there was so much energy and enthusiasm around the awards and the gala event.”

Sponsorship is so important to the Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards as Fionnuala explained: “This year we are delighted to announce that Eirgrid has returned as our Main/Platinum Sponsor having experienced the success of the awards last year.

“The majority of our Category/Silver Sponsors have returned again this year and we have added two new categories. This ongoing endorsement shows the importance of the competition and the event to the County.  This support enables Letterkenny Chamber to bring the awards to a new level and the Chamber are proud to deliver on such a prestigious event.”

Annette Houston MD, FM Services Group, a previous entrant and award winner, encouraged businesses to apply: “Awards are a recognition of our success. We have secured new contracts since we started using Awards and accreditations as strategies for promotion.  I think genuinely there is so much to be gained by participating in the awards process itself.  It is a way to recognise staff, empower, develop and reward those people in your business that maybe don’t always get the recognition they deserve.  It’s a way of creating bonds within the team that far outweigh the time and effort in putting an application together.”

Toni Forrester, Letterkenny Chamber CEO is encouraging businesses to apply today.

“We have some new and exciting categories and we have simplified the process, with just four questions per award. We have added, Workplace of the Year in recognition of the work going on in companies to reward and retain staff. We have also this year introduced Young Business Person of the Year to acknowledge the many young business people working in the County.

“The application process is done simply online. Businesses can apply for one or more categories and they just have to answer a few questions and tell us why they should win.”

Applications are open until 14th July. Shortlisted finalists will be announced from September and the winners will be announced at the glittering gala event that takes place on 10th November 2023 in The Clanree  Hotel.
