A would-be car thief was left stumped after he tried to steal a car with an immobiliser.
Gardaí are investigating the attempted theft from Ballymacool Woods, Letterkenny on Wednesday the 17th of May between 12.30pm and 7.30pm.
The window on the driver’s side was smashed and the ignition was tampered with.
The car in question was fitted with an immobiliser and so the attempt was unsuccessful.
A Garda spokesperson said “We appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity in the area of Ballymacool Woods on May 17th to contact Gardaí.
“Given the fact that this occurred in broad daylight, we are hopeful that somebody may have seen something of benefit to our investigation. Gardaí in Letterkenny may be contacted on 074-9167100.”
