Three pupils from Colaiste Ailigh will be representing their school in the ‘F1 In Schools Competition’ in Galway on Monday 29th May.

Eoghan Ó Fearáin, Harry Ó Dubháin, and Philip Mac Aoidh are challenged to design, build and race the fastest and most-efficient Formula One car of the future, powered by compressed gas cylinders.

This is the first time Colaiste Ailigh has entered the competition, thanks to the help of their teachers Blaine O’Maolagain and Seosamh Mac Ceallabhuí.

They have successfully learned how to raise sponsorship, design uniforms, the importance of project management and meeting deadlines, public speaking and presentation skills and recognise each team member’s strengths and how to work as a team.
