Staff and students from Bruckless National School recently hosted a community fundraiser for the Darkness into Light Walk to raise funds for Pieta House.
A walk was hosted and a coffee morning was held after in the school.
This was the second year the community have gathered to walk at 4:15 am to complete the walk and have some refreshments after.
A special word of thanks to the community, school staff, students and other people who helped at the event by marshalling, organising and cleaning up, donating refreshments and in any other way to make the event safe and successful.
The organisers are looking forward to making this an annual event for the school and the community!
The school are delighted to announce that €1307 was raised for Pieta house through online donations to the fundraising page and donations made at the coffee morning.
“This has been the penultimate event in the school applying for the Amber Flag. We were delighted to receive the news today that our work over the past year has been recognised and we have been awarded our first Amber Flag.
“This initiative promotes a culture of learning and positive student wellbeing in schools. The school strives to cultivate a culture that prioritises learning and wellbeing for all members of the school community,” said a school spokesperson.
