Donegal village fights back with CCTV cameras after spate of vandalism

It’s one of Donegal’s most beautiful villages.

However, a spate of vandalism and littering around the village has now forced villagers to take action.

Doochary Development have no announced that they are to intsall a CCTV system around the village.

A spokesperson said “Due to the amount of vandalism and serious fly tipping in and around the village, we have made the decision to have cctv cameras installed in various locations and any person or persons caught on camera will be dealt with according to the law .

“The people who show such disrespect for our village and perform these atrocious acts deserve nothing more than to be held to account for their actions.”

Earlier this month, a hand-carved stone ‘welcome’ sign on the outskirts of Doochary was smashed into pieces.

There has also been graffiti attacks on local murals which were painted to honour locals form the village.
