Huge sadness at passing of one of Donegal’s oldest citizens

The sad passing has been announced of Donegal woman Maggie Maguire at the remarkable age of 107.

Ms Maguire, of Keelogs, Inver, was one of Donegal’s longest living citizens.

Born in Lignaul in April 1917, christened Margaret, she was the third youngest in a family of four.

She married her late husband, Michael, in 1947 and together they had four children. Maggie is predeceased by her husband Michael and her sons John Francis & Edward Joseph.

She will be greatly missed by her son Michael (Nuala) Ardaghey, daughter Bridget Quigg (Pat) Glencolmkille, her 7 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren.

Remains will be reposing at Gallagher’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, on Monday, 29th May, from 5pm until 9pm, and at her late residence in Keelogs, Inver, on Tuesday, 30th May, from 4pm until 9pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 31st May, in St. Naul’s Church, Ardaghey, at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
