Stunning Shandon voted in top 10% of world’s hotels

The Shandon Hotel & Spa team is not just celebrating the good weather this week, as they’ve won a TripAdvisor 2023 Travellers Choice Award!

The seaside hotel, overlooking Marble Hill near Dunfanaghy, has ranked in the Top 10% of listings on global travel site TripAdvisor.

Consistently great reviews and a commitment to hospitality excellence led the Shandon to scoop the honour this year.

Ever-upgrading, the Shandon has come a very long way since the London-based hotel owner Warren McCarthy bought the disused hotel in 2015. While the breathtaking coastal views remain the same, the hotel is almost unrecognisable thanks to multi-million investments made over the years.

Mr McCarthy, Manager Carolynne Harrison and her hard-working staff have helped make the coastal destination one of the country’s go-to holiday hotspots.

The Shandon recently unveiled an extension to their luxury spa and a new leisure club comprising a 24-hour gym and yoga studio.

On their newest accolade, a spokesperson for the hotel said: “We are delighted to announce that we have just been informed that we have won TripAdvisor’s 2023 Travellers Choice Award!

“This would not be possible without our fantastic team and amazing guests who support us time and time again.”
