An investigation is underway after three valuable batteries were stolen from an electric fence in north Inishowen.

Gardaí are investigating the theft at a field in Ballylin, Malin.

A local landowner had placed three Forcefield batteries into a fence along the roadside on Friday evening last, only to discover they were stolen the following day.

The theft took place sometime between 5pm Friday 2nd June and 8am Saturday 3rd June.

Gardaí are appealing to people to notify them if the batteries appear for sale anywhere second-hand.

If you can assist with this inquiry, contact Buncrana Garda Station: +353 74 9320540
