Risk of spot flooding as heavy rain forecast for later

Temperatures have cooled slightly and today is set to be a wet one with heavy and thundery showers.

Met Éireann says the day will start with scattered showers across Ulster and these will become ‘more persistent’ during the afternoon and evening, giving the chance of hail and spot flooding. It will stay mild with highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees, with light southerly winds.

Tonight, scattered showers will continue, turning heavy and thundery at times with hail and spot flooding possible. The showers will gradually die out late in the night with mist and fog patches developing. Lowest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees with light winds.

Tomorrow, it will be generally cloudy with isolated showers to begin with. Some of the showers will turn heavy and possibly thundery during the afternoon and evening with spot flooding a risk. Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees with light southeast winds.
