Eclipse Cinemas, with sites in Bundoran and Lifford-Strabane, have won two awards in just under two months!

On Monday night, Eclipse Cinemas Bundoran won ‘Best Cinema Experience’ at Ireland’s Hospitality Awards in Dublin! This is only three weeks after sister cinema, Eclipse Cinemas Lifford-Strabane, won ‘Best Entertainment Venue’ at Highland Radio’s Customer Service awards on 28 th May.

“Acknowledgement is always nice but as both these awards are for customer service and voted for by the customers, they mean a lot more,” a spokesperson for the company said.

Daniel Barret, Director, Louise Grieve-Doherty, General Manager Lifford and Martin Barrett Director.

Eclipse Cinemas is a locally owned independent cinema group and has been bringing entertainment to the northwest since Lifford-Strabane Cineplex opened its doors in 1996.

Bundoran Cineplex then followed in 2001, with both sites being rebranded Eclipse Cinemas in 2008 following a school competition. It was a 6th class Donegal student who came up with the name Eclipse Cinemas as the cinema journey from light to darkness and back to light mirrors the experience of an Eclipse.

The cinema has hosted several premieres over the years, everything from blockbusters to smaller Irish features to being the home for Surf Documentaries and Educational Conferences. As well, it has provided a platform for young budding film makers to make their own features and see them on the big screen, hopefully inspiring the next wave of Irish cinema.

Patrick Nuggent, General Manager, Martin Barrett, Director and John O’Connell, Director.

Both cinemas have understood that in a multi-media service driven environment, their customers needed more and are now offering a Dine-in-Screen Experience. Hot food such as Pizza, Hot Dogs and even vegan friendly treats are paired with options for Wine, Italian Coffee and Gelato. Eclipse Cinemas were the first multiplex in Ireland to offer this service. But don’t worry it hasn’t forgotten its roots and is renowned for our freshly made classic cinema popcorn.

Both cinemas in recent years have added VIP Studios offering premium VIP recliners called ‘The Directors Lounge’ and Lifford-Strabane also has a second VIP studio “The Regal Room” offering luxury red armchairs with footstools.

Eclipse Cinemas Philosophy is ensuring top-quality content, in a top-quality seat with top-quality projection – all delivered at top quality value. Whether you choose premium service or are looking for entertainment on a budget, we will go the extra mile to make sure every promise is fulfilled, and every customer satisfied. The vision behind the business is to bring city style entertainment to a small town, but with that extra Donegal Fáilte that only local businesses can provide.

John O’Connell (Director), Patrick Nuggent General Manager Bundoran) and Martin Barrett (Director).
