A total of 242 local projects across Donegal are to share €373,000 in funding for energy supports and improvements.
Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue, today announced the successful projects under the 2022 Community Support Fund.
“I am delighted to announce almost €373,000 in funding for 242 local projects across County Donegal today as part of the Department’s Community Support Fund,” he said.
“Community groups are the centre of our towns and villages and integral to our towns and villages and this funding will help them continue their great work.”
The fund was launched in November 2022 with funding of €10 million available – €100,000 of this was ring-fenced specifically to support Women’s Sheds.
The key theme of the fund is to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with their energy bills, as well as with improvements to their facilities.
It is a once off fund provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by Local Community Development Committees, with support from the Local Authority, in each area.
