The very talented staff of Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) have raised thousands for charity through their recently hosted variety shows at An Grianán Theatre.

The concert brought together the best of LUH’s actors, musicians, performers, singers and dancers for a night of entertainment and laughs.

The famous LUH choir led by renowned choral director, Veronica McCarron, opened and closed the concert. The staff variety show is a long-standing tradition in Letterkenny, but was on pause for the last four years due to the pandemic and staff were delighted to hit the stage again.

Throughout the two nights nearly €7,000 was raised for charity and cheques were recently presented to representatives of the various organisations involved; Donegal Down Syndrome was presented with €2,922, Féilecáin, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland received €2,922 and the Friends of LUH were presented with €1,060.

Speaking about the concert Winnie Felle, member of the LUH Hospital Show Committee said: “We are very lucky to have a wonderful team in LUH who have many talents outside of the hospital, I’d like to thank everyone involved for a fabulous production which showcased the very best of our hospital community.”
