Kilcar native Christy Gillespie will launch his book ‘The Road to Glenlough’, one that has been 20 years in the making.

The book explores the fascinating history of the remote and monumental valley of Glenlough. This is a place that has had strong associations with Prince Charles Edward Stuart, American artist Rockwell Kent and Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.

Gillespie illustrates Glenlough’s storied past and draws on the many paintings, photographs and words used to shine a light on the valley and its people.

The launch of the book will take place on Friday at 7pm in the Glencolmcille Folk Village and Saturday at 8pm in the Áislann, Kilcar at 8pm.

There will be further book launches at a later date in Ardara, Glenties, Letterkenny and Dublin.

This book is the first in a series that will follow soon after.

If anyone wishes to receive an advanced copy of ‘Road to Glenlough’, contact Christy at glenloughvalley@gmail.com.
