It’s the busiest week of the season so far for Killybegs as another massive cruise liner pulls into the dock.
The stylish 285m Arcadia arrived at dawn this morning, bringing another influx of visitors to the seaside town.
An incredible 6,600 passengers have arrived in south Donegal since Monday. The Oceania Riviera paid a visit with 1,447 passengers on Monday, followed by the return of the massive Mein Schiff 3 on Tuesday with 2,700 passengers onboard.
Today’s visitor, the P&O cruises Arcadia, carries 2,458 passengers and 866 crew. The liner is one of the most beloved ships in the P&O fleet , offering guests a more intimate experience in stylish surroundings.

The ship’s current tour of the “British Isles” features ports of call at Belfast, Killybegs, Stornoway, Lerwick, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Greenock, and Holyhead.
Records will be broken twice this summer at Killybegs’ deep water harbour. In May, the Norwegian Star made the first of four visits, breaking the previously held record for the longest ship to berth in Killybegs by less than the length of a ruler. A total of 28 cruise ships are on the arrivals calendar this year between May and October.
