Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to lash across the country later today, according to the latest weather alert from Met Eireann.
Today will start off dry over Ulster with sunny spells, but the afternoon will see scattered thunderstorms and widespread showers with spot flooding and the chance of hail.
A status yellow warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Connacht will be in place from 1pm until 8pm this evening.
Forecasters are urging road users to plan ahead.

Difficult travelling conditions
Temperatures will remain warm at 17 to 20 degrees celsius.
Tonight, showers will continue for a time, but will die out in most areas.
“Monday will bring sunshine and heavy showers with thunderstorms and spot flooding possible and a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees with light to moderate southeast to east breezes,” forecasters say.
