Met Eireann has extended its Status Yellow alert for thunderstorms in Donegal this evening.
The warning is now in place until 9pm.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across the country this afternoon and evening.
Forecasters are urging road users to plan ahead.
Possible impacts of the weather will be:
Spot flooding
Poor visibility
Difficult travelling conditions
Temperatures will remain warm at 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.
Tonight, showers will continue for a time, but will die out in most areas.
“Monday will see sunny spells to start but it will become cloudy with showers developing. The showers will be heavy once again, bringing the chance of thunderstorms , hail and spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with light to moderate southeast to east breezes,” forecasters say.
