Amazing Áine launching own book for cancer charity

A ten-year-old schoolgirl whose Donegal mum survived cancer has written her own book for charity.

Áine Hickey from Mullingar will be launching her own short book on 21st July, with all proceeds going towards Lakelands Area Retreat and Cancer Centre (LARCC) Support Sanctuary.

Áine’s mum Marie Coyle, from Raphoe, had cancer and it was a very difficult time for the family. LARCC helped them during that time and now Áine says it is time to give back.

There are 1000 printed copies of the book, at €10 each, with Áine hoping to make a €10,000 donation to LARCC.

Áine gave up a birthday party in order to save €500, with her local Credit Union donating €500 and Mullingar Heating and Plumbing Supplies and Coyle’s Centra, Raphoe giving the last amount.

The book launch will launch at 6pm on Friday 21st July in the Cullion GAA Club in Westmeath.

The book will also be available to purchase in Coyle’s Centra in Raphoe.
