An award-winning Letterkenny restaurant is using a robotic waiter to help make life easier for its busy staff!
The ‘Bellabot’ is the latest addition to the team at Kelly’s Diner and is proving a huge hit at their Mountain Top premises.
“The Bellabot is helping our team get your food to you and will even sing happy birthday for those special occasions,” said owner Máirtín Kelly.
The robots are powered by artificial intelligence (AI), which has computed every table within the diner into its software so that the robot can bring food and drinks to tables without any hassle whatsoever.

Mr Kelly stressed, however, that the robot will not be replacing people’s jobs.
“The point we want to get through to people is that jobs aren’t being affected by this, it’s just to improve the quality of our service,” he explained.
“We would never replace human interaction with our customers. In fact, we have more staff than we had this time last year.”

He said that, particularly, kids love their new attraction.
However, they want to personalise the experience and, as a result, are currently running a competition on their Facebook page to find the best name for our newest member.

“We will shortlist the two top names and give away a €50 voucher to two lucky facebook fans,” Mr Kelly added.
The name and winners will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
