Man dies following Donegal road crash

A man in his 60s has passed away in hospital following a tragic crash in Burnfoot yesterday.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at Tooban at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.

The driver was seriously injured when the car he was driving struck a ditch.

He was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital in a serious condition. He sadly passed away as a result of his injuries.

A female passenger, aged in her early 60s was not injured during the collision.

Gardaí have confirmed that a post mortem will take place in due course.

The R238 in Burnfoot remains closed pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
