Met Eireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Donegal this Saturday.
There will be frequent heavy showers on Saturday which may lead to localised flooding, according to forecasters.
The alert is in place for the entire day, from 9am until midnight.
Last Saturday saw severe flooding in parts of East Donegal due to persistent rain. Over 80mm of rain fell in the region, which is equivalent to the average rainfall sometimes seen over an entire month. Raphoe and Castlefin were brought to a standstill during the extreme weather event.
The forecast for Saturday says it will be “blustery with sunny spells and scattered showers, turning heavy and possibly thundery, especially in the northwest with localised flooding possible.”
