Little dog Sooty reunited with delighted owner after almost three weeks missing

There were tears of joy on Friday evening when a dog was reunited with her owner after almost three weeks missing.

Little Sooty is the dearly loved canine companion of Frances McDaid from Ballyare, Ramelton.

On the night of Monday 10th July, it’s believed that Sooty got a fright from fireworks and ran away from home.

The little Scottish terrier was nowhere to be found, until this week when she turned up at a family home in Coolboy.

McCarron boys Oisin (9) and Darragh (13) brought Sooty inside and their mum Shirley shared a photo on Letterkenny Babies page. Fortunately, someone remembered seeing an appeal for a missing dog on Donegal Daily, allowing Shirley to contact the family.

Frances was overjoyed to hug Sooty again yesterday evening and to bring her home safe and sound.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped to look for Sooty and everyone who shared posts on social media.

Welcome home Sooty!
