Buncrana Roads Policing Unit detected a vehicle travelling at 134 Kph in a 100 Kph speed zone this morning in the Newtowncunningham area.
The driver will now have to pay a fine of €160 and will also receive three penalty points.
“Weather conditions have been very poor lately and most road surfaces are wet/possibly slippery as a result,” a garda spokesperson said.
“We are all vulnerable on the roads. Nobody is invincible. Save lives. Slow down.”
